Dance in the Nursery focuses on the development of children’s core strength, stability, balance, spatial awareness, coordination, agility and gross motor skills through a wide variety of games and activities.
Reception enjoyed their street dance session being free to express themselves.
Year 4 had a great morning session of street dance today.
The children enjoyed another orienteering lesson where they developed their map reading skills. It was both enjoyable and chilly!
The children are really enjoying their orienteering lessons. We have been practicing our map reading skills and trying to identify the points on a compass by learning the rhyme: Never, Eat, Shredded, Wheat!
This week, Year 2 had to combine their map reading, history and running skills. An orienteering course was marked on a map and the children had to find detailed historical information about Heaton Hall.
Thank you to Mrs Hyde and Mrs Turner for putting on such a fun and energetic orienteering session for us. We can’t wait for the next one!
5M thoroughly enjoyed their first orienteering session this morning and can’t wait for their next lesson.
Year 2 have enjoyed their gymnastics unit and have thoroughly enjoyed showing off their skills to Mrs Hyde.
Year 5 had some target practise last week with Freddy Fit with several competitions to see how many bean bags each team could throw into a bucket. We ended with a really intense workout.
