Today we enjoyed an afternoon exploring speaking and listening activities and developing their skills. We listened to a story called ‘Too shy for show and tell’, we played ‘would you rather…’ and ‘banned word’ games. Then we had a Dragons Den style finish where the children came up with an invention and then explained what it was and how it worked.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old,
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

Year 6 had an amazing time dissecting real hearts as part of our Science unit on the circulatory system! We were fascinated to see the different chambers and vessels up close and to learn how blood flows through the heart. It was an unforgettable hands-on experience that really brought our learning to life!

Here are we are enjoying some co-operative games on Super Learning Day. Mr Myatt pulled a few strings and brought in a special visitor to help us with our super learning fun!

Can you guess which artist inspired our latest project?

Well done to the Bowker Vale girls football team who played in a tournament on Monday night… and didn’t lose a single game!

From little acorns mighty oaks grow!

After learning all about our namesake tree, the English oak, our curiosity took us on a journey into the world of English trees. This led to an exciting discovery — conkers! We collected them to create our own game, enjoying plenty of laughter and fun while getting to know our new classmates.

The Year 5/6 girls enjoyed a fantastic football tournament at MCA on Monday night. They lost one game, drew three and won their final match to cap off a great evening of football. I can’t speak highly enough of the players. They all stuck to their jobs, worked so hard and fully deserved their victory at the final whistle. Onwards and upwards!
