This half term in History, Year 5 will be exploring the gunpowder plot. We will be studying the key dates, figures and events as well as the causes and consequences from this failed assassination attempt.

We started our unit by discussing why it is still a significant event which people remember today. Many of us didn’t know the full story of the plot, so we shared the story around a camp fire with biscuits and hot chocolate (yum!). We then learned the famous gunpowder plot poem and performed the poem around the fire.
