Phonics disco and adding

Good morning Zebras and Giraffes. Today we’ve got a phonics disco for you to practise your letters, digraphs, or reading words. You and your grown ups can choose what you need to practise and add them to your game. Look at the letter and word mats we sent home to help you know what you need to practise. Watch the video of my phonics disco then you can have your own.

In the afternoon you can do some adding. Here is another video to help you.

Another task for today is to have a go at leaf bashing. Look at Miss Mansfield’s instructions below to see how.

Leaf bashing

Start by exploring the trees and plants in your garden or on your daily walk and find one or two leaves or flowers that look bright and colourful.

Materials you will need;

  • Paper or card
  • Kitchen towel
  • A stone
  • One or two leaves or flowers

1, First, place your chosen leaf or flower onto your paper and cover with your kitchen towel.

2, Using a stone bash over your leaf or flower until you can see the colour coming through onto the kitchen towel.

3, Gently remove the kitchen towel.

4, Finally carefully pull off your leaf or flower from the paper to reveal your imprint.

Have a lovely day and don’t forget to send your photos
