Today, Year 6 and School Council walked up to Blackley Forest to pay our respects with a poppy wreath, laid by the school bench, to remember service men and women who have lost their lives in conflict.
Children read moving poems, and during one poem the rain stopped and the sun shone (briefly) through the clouds!
I was very proud of our children as they respectfully remembered.
We all said together –
Turn your thoughts on this occasion
To those who faught and died in the war
Years have passed and time has forgotten
But we will remember the soldiers once more
