I think that the child could be elated because something the boy likes might have happened to him : getting an ice – cream , going to the park , getting a dream gift , playing with his peers or getting a prize for amazing work .

All of these things could make someone feel good about themselves because I know all of  the things I have listed make me feel good about myself.
