Year 3, 4 and 5 enjoyed a Theatre Show this afternoon, learning all about how to cross roads safely and what to do if there are hazards (including monsters from outer space!) in the way!

Road Safety Week 2023
This week we are taking part in Road Safety Week
Road Safety Week is a big road safety campaign and it happens every year.
We’re going to be talking about road safety all week and this is important because we all use roads and it’s important to talk about what we need to make sure our journeys are safe.
All About Antarctica
In assembly this morning we learned about Antarctica. We were invited to join a special mission –
to become Champions of Antarctica and a 2041 School.
We watched the first film on this website – there are lots more to look at at home.
I have asked children to find out a fact about Antarctica and write it below in the comments – all facts will receive a Gold Sticker!
Tesco Donation – Thank you!
Thank you to Tesco Cheetham Hill for your generous donation of £100 to be used to help with some new resources for our Lotus Room. This is very much appreciated! Thank you!
The Lotus Room is a place where children can spend time with a Play Therapist or Therapeutic Support Worker. Children come for many different reasons. They might be feeling worried, or sad, maybe scared or angry. At times children struggle to cope with changes in their life, for example, moving house, new school, family separation etc.
If you feel you would like your child to access some support from the Lotus room staff you can pop in to see us and we will arrange a time for you to discuss any concerns you have. We can also offer advice and support such as parenting advice on things like bedtime routines, setting boundaries, children’s stages of development.

Year 5 feedback from Co-op High School
Thank you for bringing your Year 5s this morning.
They were, hand on heart, the most well behaved group we have EVER had in! I was so impressed with their behaviour, their attitude to learning their manners… Everything.
Please bring them again!
I’ve attached a couple of photos from 5A’s maths lesson.
Please get in touch if you’d like anything from our teachers.

Final Walk into the Weekend Club!
We have all really enjoyed our Friday mornings walking club! Buddy has loved being able to walk, sniff, play and chase in Heaton Park before school and we have helped to reduce a few cars at the very busy drop off point in the mornings. Thank you to everyone for making this such a fun club!
Safe Over Summer #3
- Online/Digital safety –
Omegle has been a headache for those concerned with protecting children for a decade and a half. On first glance the site is a simple internet chatroom, reminiscent of platforms from the Internet’s early years. It has no registration or account system. Being designed with the originally innocent objective of getting strangers to talk to each other, but this allows under-18s to easily use the platform, without needing parental assistance, money or even an email address. This already creates a dangerous situation to young pupils, but its insistence on users needing a webcam to chat places anyone underage in an extremely vulnerable place. To find out more about Omegle and the risks it poses, please follow the links below:
