5M have really enjoyed World Book Day today. We have enjoyed listening to stories, making bookmarks and going to the library.

5M- Our Voices Matter!
In 5M, we have been celebrating Children’s Mental Health week by doing lots of different activities including discussing our most treasured moments, listening to calming music and thinking about what makes us feel special and happy.
Writing Magazine Winners
Well done to all the writing superstars who were picked by their teachers to feature in the latest edition of the Writing Magazine and receive a prize for their hard efforts. Children were picked for a range of reasons including writing suitably for their given audience, using capital letters and full stops accurately and producing neat, cursive handwriting. Well done everyone!

5M Explore Learning Workshop
Explore Learning delivered a fantastic workshop to 5M today which we thoroughly enjoyed. We created a radio advert for a useless imaginary product. We came up with lots of ideas such as a watch that doesn’t tell the time, or glasses without lenses.
5M Maths
This week, we have been using bar models, which are pictorial representations of a problem or concept, to help us to work out the answers to Maths questions. The models have really helped us to understand the questions.
5M DT Catapult Project
5M have been working extremely hard learning about and making catapults which links to our Science unit- Forces. We worked in groups to design and create free standing catapults that were strong and accurate and would knock a paper- cup tower over.
Diwali Activities in 5M
5M have really enjoyed learning about Diwali this afternoon. We have made and decorated diva lamps, learnt about the story of Diwali and made rangoli patterns.
5M Poppy Wreath
We have been learning about Remembrance Day in 5M and the significance of the poppy as the symbol of both Remembrance and hope for a peaceful future. We have created a poppy wreath with special messages to those who have lost their lives fighting for our future.
5M Orienteering
5M thoroughly enjoyed their first orienteering session this morning and can’t wait for their next lesson.
5M’s Class Charter
This is our class charter. It lists the rights that children in 5M believe they should have in the classroom and how they will respect those rights.
