Friday Afternoon SSC Class

Welcome back everybody.

Here are the activities for this afternoon:

Over the next few weeks in science, we will be learning how to work scientifically and the skills this requires. We will be taking a closer look at the weather and the effects it has on the environment around us. Each week we will research, collect data and conduct experiments based on different types of weather.

Job 1: Working Scientifically

Complete the science vocabulary word search below:

Job 2: Tornadoes

This week our weather focus is tornadoes.

A tornado is a strong, dangerous wind that forms itself into an upside down spinning cone, and is able to destroy buildings as it moves across the ground.

There are two activity options.

Option One: Tornado Time Fact Diagram

Complete the tornado diagram by conducting your own research on tornadoes and labelling the worksheet below. You can also draw a picture of a tornado and label it using the keywords provided.

Option Two: Tornado in a Bottle

This week we are going to work on our cardio.

Cardio is any type of exercise that increases your heart rate and keeps it up for a prolonged period of time. Your respiratory system, that helps us to breathe, will start working harder as you begin to breathe faster and more deeply.

You can either complete the Joe Wicks workout:

Or complete a cardio exercise activity of your choice at home. This could be running, jumping or an active game you might have received over the holidays.

Have fun!
