Year 3S and 3KT homelearning Tuesday 17th November

Good morning Year 3,

I hope you all had a fabulous Monday and are ready and raring to go for a brilliant Tuesday of homelearning.

We are all so proud of your resilience, positivity and hardwork so far.

Today we would like you to start the day with some yoga! It is so important in our current situation that we stay active!

For today’s English activity we would like you to write a set of instructions for how to make your paper aeroplane from yesterday.

You may need to remake it again to remind yourself of each of the steps. Look carefully at the success criteria below as there are lots of targets that we would like you to include.

For today’s maths activity we are going to be looking at expanded column subtraction.

Follow and listen to the Powerpoint below:

Expanded column addition the a written strategy used to subtract 2 and 3 digit numbers.

Use this poem to help with the tricker ones..

Can you use expanded column subtraction? Use the grid paper in your pack.

After that we would like you to complete a homophones activity. What is a homophone?

Today we are going to be looking at the homophones to, two and too.

Simply add to, too or two into each sentence so that it makes sense.

This afternoon we have a History activity for you. We are going to be focusing on timelines.

What is a timeline?

Today you are going to be creating a timeline of your life. Remember a timeline displays events in chronological order meaning that the event that happened first comes first, that the events are in order and finishes with the most recent event.

In your timeline you could include important events such as starting school, learning to ride a bike, holidays , your younger siblings being born and any other significant life events.

Remember to send pictures of your brilliant work to your class email.

Class 3S: class3s@bowkervale.manchester.sch.uk

Class 3KT: class3kt@bowkervale.manchester.sch.uk

Have a brilliant day Year 3 and we will see you in our afternoon Google Meets.
