Year 2M online learning

Good morning Year 2, are ready for an exciting day of learning ahead?  I hope you can all join me at 9.30am and 2.15pm for our Google Meet sessions! We know learning at home is not the same as being in school, but the teachers have tried to make your day fun and focused!

Every morning, we will continue to focus on our activity journal ‘My Inner Being’. It is important, especially over the next few weeks, that you focus on your strengths, value yourself and know how special you are! First, draw a picture of yourself and label it with all the positive statements we have been sharing in school. Can you share your thoughts and feelings with somebody you trust.

Next, I would like you to complete the Maths 2 challenge from your ‘just in case’ pack. Can you answer the questions in a set time? Can you sort the number sentences into doubles, count on, count back or number bonds? Why not make up your own number sentences and see if you can beat your time each time?

After that, why not try the addition and subtraction train game on Top Marks?

Your English task today is to draw a character from our story George’s Marvelous Medicine. Can you label the character with expanded noun phrases?

Your reading task is reading task 2 from your pack. Once you have found the words can you explain what they mean?

Finally, on Saturday some families will be celebrating Diwali. Diwali is the five-day festival of lights, celebrated by millions of HindusSikhs and Jains across the world. Diwali, which for some also coincides with harvest and new year celebrations, is a festival of new beginnings and the triumph of good over evil, and light over darkness.

Watch the video clip and listen to the Diwali song to find out more information.
