Y2M Monday Activities

Good morning Year 2, It’s a brand new week! I hope you can all join us at 10.00am for our Google Meet session! You will need a piece of paper, a felt tip pen and your brilliant brain! Today we will be practising our counting skills.

This week we will continue our inner being theme of positivity and happiness! Your first task today, is to think of all the things you are grateful for. Gratitude helps to promote happiness, so close your eyes and think about things that you are grateful for! Do you want to write them down or share them with somebody you trust?

English

This morning I would like you to focus on your comprehension skills. Comprehension is the understanding and interpretation of what is read. To be able to accurately understand written material, you need to be able to decode what you read; make connections between what you read and what you already know; and think deeply about what you have read. Therefore, I would like you read the text below and answer the questions. There are two levels, so read the one that you feel you can understand the best.

Maths

In maths, I would like you to practise counting in 2’s forwards and backwards. Watch the video by clicking on the link below

After that, have a go at completing the worksheet activities.

Science – What are the characteristics of living things?

In this lesson, we will learn what the acronym MRS NERG stands for and learn each of the characteristics of living things. We will then identify and sort a range of living and non-living things.
