Let’s have a terrific Tuesday!

Good morning Year 3,

We are going to start the day with some yoga. Today’s yoga session is focusing on your balance, so try to keep your chin up and look straight ahead. This will stop you wobbling as much.

Next I would like you to practice your handwriting on letterjoin. After that I have a text all about Greece which I would like you to read and then answer the questions.

For today’s maths I have a tricky maths challenges for you to complete. They are two step problems which means you will need to do more than one operation to find the answer.

Next we want you to record yourself retelling your favourite Ancient Greek myth. Remember to use your voice and face to show different emotions. You can use volume to create tension- lower the volume when something scary or unexpected is about to happen. Here is a retelling of Theseus and the Minotaur for you to use as inspiration.

For your history challenge we would like you to think about the Ancient Greek and Modern Day olympics and create a list of similarities and differences. You could show your findings in a venn diagram. Here is a video to remind you how the Ancient Greek Olympic games started: http://www.wcl.govt.nz/blogs/kids/index.php/2016/08/22/the-ancient-history-of-the-olympics/

This afternoon we want you to challenge yourself to try and learn a traditional Greek dance. Ask your family to try along with you.

We hope you have a fabulous day and remember to send your pictures to year3@bowkervale.manchester.sch.uk
