We Will Remember

We have had a very respectful day today remembering the soldiers who lost their lives for us in the past wars.

We all learned about Remembrance Sunday in assembly this morning, then Year 6 and School Council went up to the Meadow in Blackley Forest to have our annual ceremony, with members of the community.

Children wrote and read poems, we sang a song, listened to The Last Post and heard an ex-serviceman, Jerry, read his own poem. We then lay our wreath as the cannon sounded (all the way from Manchester Town Hall!) and we held our 2 minute silence.

School Council then shared their amazing Poppy Buns with members of the community.

Even Buddy joined in with his remembrance scarf!

Thank you to everyone who took part today.

We will remember.
