Mount Agung is an active volcano in Karangasem Regency in East Bali.

It is 70 kilometres away from an airport where lots of people and tourists are sleeping.The last time it erupted was in 1963, it claimed 1600 lives at the time. Evacuation did not take place until the very last minute ( unlike this year where evacuation has already taken place ).

What is causing this?

It has shown resent increased volcanic activity.Visual and instrumental data from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources indicate that an eruption is going to happen.
