Zebras are mammals, which are a part of the horse family. Zebras have excellent hearing and can run up to 35 miles per hour. The lead zebra of the herd stays at the back of the herd to protect them from predators.

When zebras are grouped together, it makes it hard for predators such as leopards, lions and tigers to choose which one to attack. Different zebras have different stripes, some are wide and narrow.
